Section 27
Offenses punishable with imprisonment
:
(1) The armed police who commit the following crimes shall be punished with life imprisonment:
(a) In case of armed rebellion,
(b) In writing, speaking or by signs or in any other manner, he has done any work that is hateful, malice or disrespectful to the sovereignty or geographical integrity, nationality and independence of Nepal or the federal unit or the good relations between different castes, castes, religions or sects. (c) In case of selling or in any way handing over to someone else the weapons or goods of the government or anyone under his charge,
(d) if he runs away with the arms and ammunition kept for his own use or in his charge,
(e) directly or indirectly aiding terrorist activities,
(f) Providing or attempting to provide information and news related to security to national or international unauthorized individuals, organizations or groups or encouraging anyone else to do so.
(2) An armed police officer who commits the following offenses shall be punished with imprisonment from seven years to twelve years :—
(a) In case of undertaking an armed rebellion,
(b) If he riots in a building, structure or place of public importance, office or any other place where he is assigned or has to protect, or if the assailant flees while being attacked,
(c) If any house or any place is demolished with the intention of looting, burglary or looting of property in any way or damage, loss or damage.
(3) An armed police officer who commits the following offenses shall be punished with imprisonment from five to seven years :
(a) Uses criminal force or attempts to do so after knowing or having reasonable grounds to know that he is an armed police officer of a higher rank or other security-related authority, whether on duty or not,
(b) If he does not give information or information as soon as possible to his superior or superior officer despite knowing that he is plotting or undertaking an armed rebellion,

(4) An armed police officer who commits the following offenses shall be punished with imprisonment from three years to five years :—
(a) If he does not obey the orders given by the armed police of higher rank,
(b) knowingly furnishes a false statement of the number or condition of persons under his charge or command, or of cash or property,
(c) If he joins any political organization or party or participates in a procession or demonstration organized for political purposes,
(d) If he misappropriates, negligently loses, damages or destroys arms, articles or vehicles or cash or goods in his charge,
(e) absconding with government property or belongings under his charge,
(f) If the property or goods of another is taken by force,
(G) If help is provided to disturb the religious and social harmony of the country,
(h) Armed Police Force, in case of absconding from the service of Nepal,
(j) If he resigns without the permission of the officer authorized to appoint him or if he fails to perform the duties of his position.
